Welcome to the Tempe Junior Crew (TJC) website, the information hub and portal for Arizona’s premier junior rowing program. We’re glad you’re here!

TJC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, competitive rowing club. It was established in 2002 for young men and women (ages 13-18) who row on Tempe Town Lake in Tempe, AZ.

Saturday, March 29: Erg-A-Thon!

Fundraising season is in full swing! TJC is on a mission to raise $10,000 by April 1. We got a GREAT start last week with our Gordon Biersch Tapping Party — we raised nearly $1,200 in two hours (not yet counting the additional boost from brew sales!)

The Erg-A-Thon is a direct campaign–one that relies on support from friends and family… Support your rower!

Please support your local rower(s)–each one on the team has a target of gathering $500 in pledged donations (to collect by March 29). At the event, they will demonstrate the mighty art and occasional challenges of erging for three hours (from 1:00PM to 4:00PM) on the main stage at Tempe Marketplace. If you come to see everyone in action that day you can (for a small donation) try it yourself! (And don’t worry–we promise they won’t make you do a 2K test on your first try!)

See you there!

TJC’ers, we have a form reference library, and we maintain season-long email blast lists and a live team calendar (check it for updates from coaches!) You can also follow TJC on Facebook (Tempe Junior Crew) and Twitter (@tempejuniorcrew).

Since its inception, TJC has competed successfully at local, regional, national and international levels. Our alumni often continue rowing competitively in college, and several have earned significant scholarships to do so.

Please feel free to contact TJC coaches with questions about our programs, or send queries about alumni activities/potential opportunities to help, or to offer feedback, whether it’s questions, comments and kudos.

Thank you to the Arizona Sports and Tourism Authority for helping TJC purchase two new Swift Elite singles and two pairs of sculling oars.
